The Dare River series continues...

When military veteran and country music star Jake Lassiter hires Susannah McGuiness as his interior decorator, she has no idea he carries a secret so great it will change the love developing between them.

The Promise of Rainbows is a heart-wrenching, emotional case study of PTSD, a condition that can significantly impact the lives of servicemen/women in the armed forces. I really felt for Jake as he worked hard to put his life back together and thankfully, Susannah had the compassion and backbone to support him through the struggle.

It involves a Christian family but don't mistake this for religious fiction. The local pastor and her daughters seem to share a view on intimacy before marriage that may offend the devout looking for a clean, inspirational read. I wasn't impressed myself but it didn't ruin my enjoyment of Jake and Susannah's love story.

Not an easy read but it was worthwhile. Kudos to Ms. Miles for keeping it real!
